I am going to install a HDS 8 in my 01 cougar, should I mount the transducer on the transom or glass it in the hull?Which will give a better reading, in the hull is protected but will I loose readings?TKS Dave
Mine is mounted in the bilge in the area designed for it. I read pretty well up to about 65 the only down side is the built in temp does not work (unless you are interested in the bilge water temp) Sensetivity is fine also although I find that I turn it up a little more than my trolling motor mount. Just follow instructions to mount it right so as to get no bubbles.Irv2000 Cougar
