Trolling Motor props

I like the two blade Safari for the grass on my Tour 82. For a good portion of last season I used the Kippawa (used to be called the Hydrilla Hacker), but found it created too much noisy vibration and did not find it as weedless as the Safari. However, it did make more power for open water. Some people on BBC take the MK prop and dremel out the back to make it fit the MG, and like it for both power and weedlessness. I just leave my Safari on all of the time now.

2 blade safari for grass / pads. The standard 3 blade for all other applications. I use the standard 3 blade 99% of time as I think it does an adequate job fishing the grass. But I also have a 36 volt troller.

Plus have to put shims under the bracket so to get your rods underneath the bracket and carry a booster seat so you can see over. No thanks!

Ive got the 2 blade Safari on my Tour 82 for summer months in grass and pads. Works fine, but will vibrate a little more than the 3 blade prop.You can also adapt an MK prop to fit an MG very easily. Just have to use a Dremel tool and make the pin slot slightly longer. As for MG or MK, Ive had both. Didnt find one any quieter than the other. I prefer the MG for the (much) lower profile, the SS shaft, the mount, and the feel of the metal pedal. The only improvement Ive made has been to replace the pull rope with an MK rope with the rub guard (Mr. Jones recommendation). I plan to add the lift assist cylinders in the near future. Other than that its just fine.

I like my metal machete prop MG makes. Beats anything Ive ever had.

I may lose my man card for admitting to reading the package but I was looking at a metal prop and it said for use on 36 volt trollers only. Kipawa (Hydrilla Hacker) will give you a little more power in open water.

The hydrilla hacker is the better one. It sucks battery juice, but you can run the motor at a slower speed and keep the same speed as the normal 3 blade.

The normal propeller is fine for us in open water, though machete for torque.

The machete is a aluminum 3 blade with my 82 motor guide it has a lot of power. I had the plastic machete on it when i bought it and i was dissapointed. The guy i bought the trolling motor from told me to try the machete because it does not flex as the plastic does . Boy what a difference it has plenty of torque now and will scoot.
