Topic: troubles woth yamaha motor

has anyone had problems with there yamaha ox66 200 hp motor. it is decreasing power when you reach anywhere between 4500 rpm and between 5000 rpms. once it reaches this point it will slowly start slowing down. sometimes you can let off on the throttle and then it will pick back up but most of the time it wont. any help will be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a stator issue possibly. Year and model? BCB

it is a 2002 200 0x66 i dont know the exact model number but if it would help i will get it and get back to you.

On that type engine it is usually either a fuel pump, and often they will not start or idle well in that case. Or it is an electrical issue. BCB

Need to verify the O2 sensor is not the problem. The O2 sensor on my 225 ox66 had those exact symptoms and I ended up replacing the 02 sensor. Problem went away.Greg
