My 2017 Basscat trailer is having issues with the UFP brakes. I have already had the left side replaced due to the “outside” brake pad showing abnormal wearing of the outside of the rotor. I noticed now the other side is doing it, however so far the other brake that was replaced is not. Is this something due to the caliper becoming frozen and not sliding back and forth thus causing the outside pad to remain in contact with the rotor? I have not dug into it yet, I plan to get after it next week. Any and all insight is appreciated.
Update: Called Dexter Brakes, discussed the issues with the representative, he is sending me the claims form requested photos and is leaning on sending a complete end axle assembly for replacement. Everything is still under warranty still, which is great. He stated that the caliper is modeled after a 1957 Chevy caliper, and that it needs to slide back and forth and is not fixed. Great customer service.
