Updated my Lowrance….

Went to Kentucky and took a class with Kickn Bass Guide(Randy Kuhens) Service called "On the Water Sonar" They take you to Bass & Gas(Matt Quinn) in Benton, KY where they go through your set up and make sure all is installed correctly and working, they update your system to the latest software, and will install anything you want added. I wanted to have Down Imaging at the front so we added a new transducer to the trolling motor and replaced my 5 with a HDS Touch 9. I also added a Point-1 antenna to the HDS 8 on my console. Once they are done, you go on the lake with Randy and he teaches you more about Lowrance units in a couple of hours than you can imagine. It is very impressive what you can do with these things once you know how to use them. During my visit I was introduced to Kickn Bass Dura Plate and Smart Bracket. It is a plate and mounting system developed for Ranger 520C to put units on. I talked with him and we measured and came up with one to fit the my 2013 Eyra. It was made and I replaced the HDS 8 with a HDS Touch 9 on the dash as well. This bracket is very well thought out and fit like a glove. It is NOT a copy of Sherms bracket. Other than the fact it covers an old hole they stop being similar there. The stability and strength are very impressive as well as the anti-theft thought that went into the design. Yes I also placed E-locks, but without those removing the plate would be extremely difficult and time consuming. I would highly recommend the On The Water Sonar class to any level of fisherman, and would also recommend Bass & Gas for any electronic questions or needs. Both are very professional and the attention to detail is excellent.
