My wife and I were having dinner one evening, I noticed a soldier in the corner with his wife a two children eating supper. I snuck up to the counter and told the waitress to bring me their bill when they were done. I also told her not to tell him who paid for their meal. I guess he had a way with words (and that look in his eye) and the waitress told him that my Wife and I paid for their meal. He came over to our table and said “Excuse me Sir, I just wanted to say thank you for paying for my supper and Id like to shake your hand”. I stood up and shook his hand and thanked him for his service. We talked for about 10 minutes about where he had been stationed and the culture shock of coming back to the states. Then he said “thank you again sir for paying for our supper. I better get back to my family sir. You and your Wife have a good evening”, and he shook my hand again. Let me tell you something guys/gals. This guy was a hard core soldier, none better. He had kick A$$ written all over his forehead. Yet he was one of the most polite, well mannered, and humble guys youd ever meet. I paid for a soldier families supper but I got WAY more in return. Thats the second time Ive done this and Im glad I could do it. A big THANK YOU goes out to all of our military guys/gals (past and present) from my family and I. Thank you for protecting out country, our interests, and our freedom!FISH ON!
