Water in cup holders in PIV?

I have standing water in the cup holders of my 05 PIV–its not the plastic inserts-I pulled them out and the water drained through the holes. Can I drill an Hole thru the foam to let the water drain?

The cup holders on each side of the step up cooler.

That area should drain down through the insulation foam under the cooler. It should not hold water, though since it obviously is, we assume this is not a slow drain of that water and still has water in that area.

We will verify with the shop and get back to you if it is standing water in that area.

I have the same issue with the cup on the starboard side of the cooler in my new P4. Water sat there in the garage for a week until I bailed it out by hand.

Suggestions?

Same Deal, 06 PIV. I took a long screw driver and poked a hole through the center of the foam and it drains fine now. I hope BCBs answer comes back that this will suffice cause if it dont, then Ive not only holes in my storage boxs, but also in my foam underneath my drink holders.

Either just punch a screwdriver through the drain hole, or pop the cup holder out. The foam has not been punched below them. This area drains into the net scabbard, and the foam will usually let it pass through. Though in your cases it seems the foam cells are clogging with trash prevetning a drain.

We wanted to be sure there was not an error in construction which someone had changed in error. There is not and phi2ls is right.

Just punch a hole with a screw driver through the foam in the center, and they will then drain.

If you remove the cup holder, then be sure you reset it with silicone to prevent it from blowing out, from the vacuum created while running.

Sorry for the delay, we wanted to check a newer one out to make sure there was not an error.
