Water in dry area in cooler

That is probably coming through the cup holder on a 2012 model and we have seen it before, which is why the newer coolers are rounded out from the corner so the cup holder is not inside the cooler and a drain stem used to release water through the cooler.

So whats the suggested fix to the problem. The water stays there and begins to smell pretty bad!!!

The water should drain through the cup holder and into the sump. Pull the cup holder and check the seal of silicone. Some in 2012 did not have silicone and newer installers did not realize they leaked as much as they do, its one of those it doesnt need that situations. It was intended to silicone holding it in place and mostly sealing it, though people did not in some instances. If it is siliconed verify the seal and chck the drain tube. Be sure the foam below has not gotten something lodged in the area below the drain tube that would restrict water drainage.

All seals looked decent. I think the water is coming from melted ice on cooler side. Its usually abou 2″ of water….,

Thats is possible. We prefer to drain the cooler and it should help the ice last longer. Water is not an insulation factor, as air is, and the water heats the ice up.
