Congrats Doug. I know you will enjoy it. I think that the gen II torque master is a little less desirable than the original torquemaster on our style of boats. I know it has changed the setup guidelines for sure. I also think you will find your 2014 250 to be slightly less powerful overall than your previous 250s. But, it will still run well and push your Cat in the 80 mph range when setup correctly. For me on the Eyra Hull, and its a different hull than you have as you know, I have to take off with the jack plate lowered almost all the way down or the “wingmaster” will cause blowout on breakover. Then I get my best top end with the motor raised up 1 to 1.5 inches from the bottom as referenced on the tape measure for the Atlas plate. I think on your Cougar you will be able to turn the 26″ Fury with a decent hole shot when loaded out. On my Eyra, I had to go to a 25″ to get better all around performance strictly due to the hole shot issues. Winter is coming and I think the 26″ will perform fine on mine but in the heat of the summer its too much. Chris CoupelPaulina, La.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.
