What method do you guys use to pre-mix your fuel?

Think he means how to mix it not the ratio of gas to fuel. What I did in my old 92 Yamaha 115 was try to guess how much gas it was going to take. If I thought it would take 12 gallons, add the quart of oil first then add gas. Flush of gas into tank mixed it up pretty good. If not sure how much room you have, Id add enough oil for 6 gallons of fuel and watch the guage. If think will take another 3 or 6 gallons of gas, add oil and pump gas. A pain but effective.One caution and I learned the hard way. If its cold, pre-mix in a container and shake good before putting in the tank. I made the mistake of doing the above when fueling on the water at local marina and the oil sunk straight to the bottom then got sucked in to the carbs. Needless to say I had to use the trolling motor to get home. Thank god didnt have to go far. Loading the boat was lots of fun.

Yes I do mean how to mix it. But any response from BCB is much appreciated. (Try getting that from mister T. Gores) I really do appreciate the responses. I will be breaking in the motor over the winter period so knowing to pre mix in a separate container is something I wouldnt have figured out on my own. Please keep them coming.

We just put in 8 ounces, three (3) gallons, 8 ounces and three more gallons. For double oil its 25-1 and thats a quart (32 ounces) to 6 (six) gallons.

walmart has a cup with screw on lid that gives all the different fuel ratios.

Most importantly to aid in years of ez use and the best oil for your motor Id run 100% synthetic, see if you use petroleum based oil it will produce carbon deposits, a lot of the time folks dont know they should decarb every spring and fall, that takes the carbon out, since Im lazy and busy I run the synthetic, no carbon to be produced, half the smoke of dinosaur oil, and it just makes those 2 strokes run better. Walmart has the pennzoil 100%synthetic tcw3 injection oil, Evinrude makes xd 100 but thats expensive, if I were you Id check on google.com cheap outboard oil I think the site is cheapoutboardoil.com or google it, way cheaper than stores.

Ive been mixing my oil and gas for the last 5 years on my basscat. I prefer to by the quarts instead of gallons and just add one quart of oil and 12 gallons of gasoline at a time. Its pretty simple for me because I burn atleast 12 gallons every time I go fishing. I find this to be the most convinient method instead of pouring the oil into another container and then pouring that in the tank. Its one less opportunity for making a mess and most of the quart bottles have a nice little spout on them that make pouring less messy. Also, dont get hung up on the exact to the ounce oil to gas ratio. You want to be as accurate as possible but if you put a quart of oil in and you start filling up and you only take 10 gallons, its not a big deal. Same token if you put 13 gallons, its not a big deal. In fact, I usually stetch it a little and go 13 gallons with a quart. 1 pint = 6 gallons1 quart = 12 gallonsStick with that and youll be fine.
