WHERE ARE THE DUCKS ?

i know its a little off-topic, but WHERE IN THE HECK ARE ALL THE DUCKS? im in south louisiana, and the duck hunter in me has been praying for weather like this for a decade now. as bad as hunting has gotten in the past 3-5 years, weve always had the sick weather to fall back on as the last hope for a really good season. surely mother nature will send a chill down at least once every ten years or so, we convinced ourselves. well...she finally has, but she forgot to send her "fowl" weathered friends along with the arctic air. now we just wonder if theyre stopping in south arkansas (surely you guys are frozen up there?) and northern louisiana instead of getting all the way down here. its very, very discouraging...at least in the rice fields of south la..

Ive seen a lot of ice on the water surface in area ponds/creeks here in central Arkansas. Ive been told that most hunters will head to Arkansas River or other rivers when ponds freeze over… Saw tons of Canadians flying couple of weeks ago over my house, heading south. Not here ! Mexico or Central America maybe ? Ice will be here for a while, and no open water for the ducks unless its running water.

Got some buddies that are absolutely hammerin them in Hurricane bottoms. All big ducks. All big groups. Been strokin them for a month. Saw a pick with 75 big ducks on the back of a truck last week…C.O.D. Jr. III

This season has been absolute crap to say the least. Do not expect much as there was not much here. When I went to MI over Christmas there, there were a ton of ducks present due to the open water from warm temps up there.

Ive seen more ducks this fall and winter than the past two seasons that Ive lived down here. Saw quite a few on the Mobile Delta this past weekend and this week on a couple of the rivers here in LA.
