Why Bass Cat?

About every six years or so my wife lets me get a new boat. I know. Im lucky. Last year I did what I always do. I said to myself "Im going to be objective" I picked what I believed to be the top two or three brands and went to drive them and fish out of them. Things change so I want to keep an open mind. All three of my candidates could be driven in the Mountain Home area so I flew in. I spent an entire day with Jason, Ivan and Rick. Rick was trimming the hedges in front of the office. Yep, trimming the hedges. He stops with trimmings all over his face, asks an employee to grab some resin samples and proceeds to spend 3 1/2 hours talking with me about everything from bass fishing history to boat construction to the latest Bass Cat projects. I drive the other two brands and come to ask if I can drive the Puma FTD one more time. "Yep. No problem" is the answer. Back to the lake we go. As I leave (feeling like Ive been a real pain in the butt) Rick and Ivan tell me "Danny, You need to buy the brand that fits you best. Regardless, if you ever need something dont hesitate to call".Ill probably be at Sherms this weekend talking about my 2014 Puma FTD. Its in my garage here at home. Ill probably email Phil Addison or someone else on the forum to get prop advice or God knows what. Yes Ive received my hand written letter from Rick recounting just about every detail we talked about last summer. And yes, I kinda miss my 2008 Puma. Thats my point guys. Even when I try real hard to "be objective", to "be open minded" theres just no way I can leave Bass Cat. The quality, performance and support cant be touched and yes, it really is a family.
