I had the same thing. Fulton does make a good product, but you have to look at the gear ratio. Get a lower gear ratio and youll be fine.

If you have to use the winch to move the boat you arent loading right. Load till you bump the bow eye, lock down with winch.

The same thing happened to me if you have the trailer step and pole be sure that you measure some of the other Fulton winches will not fit. I ended up just replacing with the same model. Mike

I do have the step and pole. Think the F2 will fit? Might as well upgrade if I am going to replace it. Operable winch could come in handy sometimes for me. Still cant access parts page… Windows 7 firefox or IEThanks again

Switched to F2 two yaers ago and have no problems since. Only have to winch boat on electric only lakes but stripped out 2 winches before going to F2. Fulton has great warrantee and will replace your winch , but you have to send in and wait for replacement. Will take 2-3 weeks. Fulton was not willing to let me pay difference to upgrade to F2 but was happy to replace stripped winch.

So the F2 fits if you have a step and pole setup? Mine winch is fine but when / if it fails I will upgrade to the F2 assuming it fits.

Dont see anything in faq pertaining to winch upgrade with post and step. Sometimes power loading isnt an option…. Lots of broke winches out there, dont want to go down the same road twice.
