Winterizing help

Drain and relube the lower unit. You need to put Stabil or something like that in your fuel and run it enough to make sure it is in the carbs. Not a bad idea (although some dont do it) to fog the motor. You can buy the fogging solution in a spray can (like spray paint) at your local Merc dealer. Make sure the motor is lowered all the way down so the water can drain out and all the water is out of the bilge and livewells. Good luck. Judd Lasiter

Before you add Stabil to your fuel, take and remove your fuel filter and replace it with a new one. Then run Stabil thur your fuel line. After running Stabil, I pull the plug and put a light spray of fogging spray in each cylinder to lube up the cylinder walls so they dont rust or freeze up. I put the bio-antifreeze in the live wells and run the bio-antifreeze thur the live wells lines. (that is made for RVand larger boats the pink stuff ) Than in spring just run fresh water thur the line to clean them out. Done this for the last 3 years and have no issuse. Bob

Just to clarify the storage fogging can looks like a spray paint can, I wasnt actually telling anyone to use spray paint as fogging agent. If you much use spray paint though please make sure it is black to match the motor JL
