Changing out the starting battery on my 2017 Cougar AE for the second time. Going up in group size from group 27 wet cell to a group 31 agm. "Supposedly" this battery has a 4 year full exchange warranty and 1370 of marine cranking amps, 1100 CCA, and 220 minutes of reserve. Anyone currently using this battery and what are your impressions with it. Yeah I know it's 75 lbs and about $400.00 but don't want to spring for lithiums, and tired of dropping a couple of hundred every other year on batteries. FYI it will be powering a 250 opti, 3 graphs, panoptics, poles, etc.
Its a very popular battery, check some of your local battery plus stores as they offer sales and discounts online. I’ve also price haggled on multiple battery purchases there and got all the batteries for my 2021 Eyra from them with a better warranty than what the duracells go for at sams club. I’ve had the x2 in my last two boats and its the only battery that cures that first cold crank on the optis.
Well, I went and dropped the cash on one of these batteries. Got a little bit of a discount, but what sold me was the warranty. 4 years, no pro-rate which is way better than a bunch of the others that I was looking at.
