He spent a practice day with BR200 on Lake Champlain for the Stren Series. BR200 was able to offer some tips that really put Ike into the zone. LOL Ike and Becky call him “The Kid”! Brad did get to practice with Ike and they had a great day on the upper end of Champlain. I was glad he took the time to let the young man go with him. BR

BR200 had a 1/2 day off from school today so he wanted to just go fishing to stay “in tune”. Lake Norman is off limits until Sunday. Maybe he will get one this big next Friday….it will count then!

It was great. We shared a cabin with Ike and his girlfriend and also FLW Pros Pete Gluszek and Dave Mansue. Great folks! BR200 ended up 19th onthe co-angler side. He outfished his boaters all three days. I stunk it up.

He is going to a small school in the Ga.Mountains called Young Harris College. The campus is awesome with great mountains views. They are considering starting a fishing team. He will actually start June 15th. THey highly recommended incoming freshman to attend summer school. He is not too keen about starting this early but I told him he had his “senior” summer last year when we went fishing in New York twice….once for the Stren on Champlain and back for the BASS Junior Chamionship in Syracuse. It is about 1.5 hours from our home. He is talking about finding a place to store the Bass Cat near there……..NOPE!!!!!!!

That boy has it bad and is very serious about it…an that is a good thing! It definitely keeps him out of trouble and he has had a great positive influence from all the fishing friends he has. He has met a ton of people fishing BFLs and Weekend Series tournaments and they all go out of their way to compliment me on how good a kid he is. What a minute, Kevin Short said whatever I do to stay away from you! LOL!

BR200 caught this one last summer in SC. I live in Ga. but I am only a few miles from SC. We had a National Bassfishing Trail National tournament on Keowee last June but it was off limits so we went to the next lake above it since they are similar lakes. This one weighed 4-12 on the X-Tools.

I met Becky at Lake Champlain last year….she is a great person and kept us laughing! Good to see them getting married! Has Ike been on a role or what? BR
