Try hooking the hooks from the sides of the hitch,if yours is similar to mine they wont fit going through the rear holes but will if you cone in from the sides.

If you fold tongue and trim motor down you might be able to squeeze it in,buy would be a pain in the ass doing that all the time. Mine is in a 236″ garage with tongue folded and motor in up position,I have roughly 8″ to spare.

Just curious because I will be doing the same soon, rather not drill and access hole. Does Basscat have an opinion on well nuts? Seems like an awful lot of stress on fiberglass with the unit mounted 6-8 high and rough water running.

Biggest fear is damaging gelcoat. Give the door shims a shot, good idea!

Myself, would replace the whole unit. Of its wearing out chances are the rest will too. Depending in what unit you will probably have to remove whole assembly anyhow. Which means bleeding brakes too.

Ok, just curious. It is lower now with new jackplate, not alot. As far as the spacers I figured they would go in between, but just dont see a need for them to. Everything clears and fits real well. Didnt have shorter bolts so thats where they went. At least I know where they are if I need them.
