Got the two Tite-lok plates mounted in the back on my new P2 for my partner. (I like the inserts when not in use). Couldnt spread them out as far as I wanted to, due to the foam filled boxes underneath. Will have my fabricator buddy rework the rod holders to make up the offset. Still have the plates upfront to mount. The lock nuts on those will be a little tougher to reach through the rod boxes.

Yes Muddywaters, very painful. Picked the boat up from the dealer in June, and just finally drilled them a week ago. Done a lot of searching on-line and measuring with my fabricator buddy, but all my non-drilling options seemed cumbersome to me and would take extra time to set up and take down in between fishing spots. I just kept reminding myself that I bought the boat to crappie fish out of, and I just needed to mount them and move on. Once you drill that first hole, all of that goes away and its no big deal. I had the same issue on my last boat, because I was worried more about the resale value. Ended up, the guy buying it, really liked them.

Muddywaters, I had the same concerns as I had several chips on my old boat and trailer and sure didnt want any on the new Cat. No review yet, just ordered these, will test them out on road trip to Alabama in a couple of weeks. I still have to get past the goofy look, but if they do the job theyll be worth it.http://images.yuku.com/image/jpg/96b48b … b8c4_r.jpg

Fewell, yes, pull the pin and slide the drop right out. Losen the two set bolts and the assembly slides right off the hitch drop. I keep it connected to the drop and store it out of the way until needed. Yeah, the garage is the only place theyve been on the truck without the boat being connected.

Not being familiar with this switch, I’m hoping someone can give me a quick 101. Also wondering how the R boats utilize this switch in the factory set up? My buddy has one on his center console boat. I saw if you are running 2 starting/running batteries you can switch between the two as well as using one to jump with. My question is more using it with a running / trolling battery set up. (24v trolling w/ 2 batteries) Would there be a time you would switch to #2 (Trolling) battery to run your pumps/electronics throughout the day? Second, if you needed to jump the starter battery by selecting #1&#2 position, would there be an issue for that split second when you switch back to battery #1 and the engine loses the 12v supply? Could it possible die? Then guessing if you are using a 36v (3 battery) trolling set up, the switch wiring would be different and would go to the middle battery for battery #2. Thanks in advance for the info.

I too used the 100% clear silicone, a dab on each end, and one in the middle on the longer strips. Been holding strong ever since…

I had a 6 beep alarm earlier this year on my 2015 Pro XS 200 , while idling, with debris in a thermostat. My dash is full, so don’t think I have room to add a MercMonitor. I was wondering about going with the Mobile Vesselview, to monitor engine data. It shows that I will be able to see live engine temp. Has anyone had any experience with this product/app ? Thanks..

Mike, I was thinking more about the Mobile Vesselview product, because the ease of install. But you do raise a good thought. I do have the Lowrance Gen 2 touch units on my P2, but I don’t have the NMEA backbone installed. Out of curiosity, what was the ball park cost of having your setup added ?

Oldtimer, they guys you’ve seen running Vessel View Mobile, have they been satisfied with its performance? I’ve been thinking about adding it to mine. I’m just wanting to keep an eye on engine temp’s more than anything. Making sure it’s warmed up before take off, and then making sure it stays cool during the day. I too run the Lowrance HDS Gen 2 touch, but hadn’t heard they sometimes don’t play well together on the NMEA with Merc’s.
