Looks great Tony. You will have to show me that tire shine. Now go get her dirty.

I have a Eyra with a 250 SHO and it runs best at 8 – 10 on normal runs and if I want to max the speed I will bump it up to 12-13. I have never run mine that low and did not realize that there would be that much difference between the hulls…..interesting

I ran a 24 Fury and a 25 Tempest on my Sabre with a 150 XR-6. I would think that a 25 Fury would run great. I know the XR-6 was a beast of a 150 but that new 175 should be able to turn it and set up right you should see some great numbers.

The SHO gets my vote. I have a 250 SHO on my Eyra and have not been passed by a Mercury yet. (Not saying that it wont happen but they better be doing over 82+) Another thing that you do not hear a lot about is hole shot with a SHO…..I have a couple friends that have to play with props, vents, jack plates and have to settle on a great hole shot or top end with a Merc. You can also find thousands of threads about this but very few where it concerns a SHO. With the SHO I just threw the ventless prop on and 3-4 second holeshot and great top end. I did change props because I was hitting the limiter. The torque of the 4.2 liter SHO is incredible. The 2013 powerhead and up have been pretty stabile after some mods from Yamaha, in their first couple years they went through some powerheads. The XS is also being discontinued in the near future so that could hurt when it comes time to sale the boat. Just a couple extra things to throw in the decision making process.

Did you get a manual or hydro jackplate? The SHO like to be higher then the Mercurys. If you are starting out with motor very low on the settings, try raising it.

I am fairly close and had a Sabre for 10 years that I could take to 69 mph. I now have a Eyra that is 80 plus. I live in Shreveport LA if you can get close I will run it for you.

I will check everything this weekend…I have a two day tournament on Toledo Bend so I should have the time.. I will fill the live wells at the start and make sure they are not over filled. The drain should be able to keep up with the two live well pumps on timers….I would hope?

Make sure that your dealer registered the motor with Mercury. Your motor is normally not registered for warranty until the dealer does it and they have to do it during the promotion for you to get the extra warranty.

Is it persist ants or just plain out trolling. This guy very articulate and you would think that he would have some value to add to the forum instead of trolling. Is he at least a BCB owner…..????AGG 271….what model BCB do you own? What motor do you run?? How is it setup???Inquiring minds would like to know!
