Are the livewell capacities the same on the 08 Cougars or did they make them a tad smaller than the Pumas?
I constantly have people discussing how fast, how fast, how fast, and I try to downplay and explain how speed is very subjective to many conditions. I do have to recount two different times though that were kind of comical. Both were nights before big tournys and guys were bragging about what their equipment would do and wouldnt you know who I ran down and ran past the next morning. I find it is so much better to be very humble and let the proof show in action regarding all facets of life. Oh by the way one of those guys is running a Cougar today. Youngblood, just calmly let the product speak for itself, it will speak loudly.
If it is the noise I have heard on my three pro xss it is just the harmonics of the carbon fiber reeds. My mechanics have told me dont worry. I would bet you dont hear it when you are at WOT.
I have one of the new units. I do not find it to be a miracle machine, but when you see it make a difference on given days it is hard not to turn it on every day.
I would go with the Maxxum. I have the fortrex on my 09 Puma and am replacing parts on the mount on a continual basis.
I have to agree somewhat with happyhour, I think a lot of ones success is created by preparation. I think the luck factor completely goes down the drain on multi-day events, preparation truly creates success on these events. Lets hope I can create some next week at Rayburn.
Getting ready to put my 09 puma on the market to get an 11. This boat has most everything you are looking for. Give me a response here or email me at mokomd@bellsouth.net. Thx, Kelly Owens, Crowley, LA.
Glynn, it will fit. I use an older one exactly like it. Best net I have ever used.Kelly Owens
Will be able to give input in the near future. New Puma FTD ordered with Talon on. I think they have just began to ship from Minn Kota.Last edited by Kelly Owens on November 19th, 2010, 2:14 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Appreciate your post discussing hours on your engine. So many people do not understand how many hours these engines are capable of when taken care of properly. I know a couple of redfish and trout guides around Golden Meadow, LA that have over 2000 hours on these engines and these hours are done with excessive weights being pushed every day. I would say just keep truckin.
Agree completely with the above statement. I never look at my gauges just my numbers. Conditions change so much during a day that there is no way for a set position, thus the reason for the hydraulic plagte
I might have to throw a jig on that standing timber on that drain. And people cant understand why SI causes more idle type hours on an outboard. Fun stuff, great pics.
2:30 am just walked in after an eight hour drive home and trying to settle down. Just wanted to drop a note for all of the performance guys, second day of tourny headed back to check in 2011 Puma FTD, 250 Merc, Hydraulic Plate approximately 36 gallons of fuel, Im 245 co-angler was probably 210, full live wells with 10 beautys, heavy tourny load of tackle, (77.5) with a 26 Fury on top of the rpm range. Will be putting my 27 on for the rest of the cool season. My co-angler looked at me at the check in area and just shook his head, priceless. Again, thanks for the interest. Good Fishing, Kelly Owens.
At last weeks event as usual I was asked why I continue to run a Cat. Just so happens I was at my room when these guys asked and I said on top of everything about the boat itself let me show you support like no other in the business. I pull up the owners board and they could not believe the instant support shown by other owners and BCB itself. Being in marketing and sales for a long while you always have to find avenues to market a product properly and I always use it when talking to other boat owners. Oh yea, I always tell them its fun to outrun everyone as well. KO.
interesting lets see what can happen i bet we could even get pa to come. i will cook.
