I fished a tournament with Dwayne at Lake of the Ozarks a few weeks ago in the Central Pro Am. I was a co-angler in that tournament and I drew him as the boater. His boat is nice and it looks good… its not in perfect showroom condition but its in very good shape. It had good electronics, the trolling motor pulled us around in wind all day long and the engine ran like a top… I am a yamaha fan but in all honesty, it ran and started really good. He has a flipping deck insert and a few other extras. Have him send you some photos… ask him about any issues (if there are any like scratches or whatever)… he will shoot you straight. He is a good guy and is looking to get sponsored through BCB so I know he will not comprimise himself or this company. He is a good fisherman to boot… Make him take you out on Beaver for a day of fishing and a test ride… they are biting up here really good right now.

Both boats look great… please post some more this evening… what speeds are the puma running at with the 250 xs?

Just a guess… Your propshaft may be slightly bent or your prop could be out of balance. Oftentimes a bent prop shaft will not be readily visible and sometimes even a slight bend can cause vibration, leaks and bearing issues.

Gary, thanks for the reply.. Is your FTD an 08? If I get up there in the next month or so we can run them side by side and turn some heads. I should have mine in the next week or two. Ben, better be gearing up for the Championship… Im swinging for the fence this year. Ill be glad to give you a ride in the boat. Im not sure if I will tow it down to Greers for the official practice days or not. Hope all is well with you and your family. Oh ya, good job @ Truman… I think you were in the top 5? Mike

Tideman, I have an aurora custom cover for sale that will fit a puma DC if you dont end up making a deal on this one.

Bass Pro carries them although they are gone the minute they hit the shelves. You may already know this but “sexy shad” is the color of the bait. Vandam is throwing a number 4-5 and 6 strike king crankbait in that color.

Just tilt the step frrward towards the bow and the water will go into the floor drain.

Basscat247, The video (DVD) series that bass pro carries “classic patterns” is really good. In fact Jason Quinn devotes at least half of his video to the spoon technique you are talking about. I think the spoon he uses is a hopkins “Smoothie”? Its not hammered but has a flat surface. The Marty stone and Iaconnelli videoes in that series are really good too.

A carolina rig with a brush hog or a jewell football jig is a good bet if your pro is fishing deep. If youre fishing shallow, a shakey head worm would be a good start. Iaconelli did really good down there a few months ago on a shakey head 5 inch berkley shakey worm if I remember right. Good luck.

Well, you can look at it this way too… now you have a tray to eat your lunch on so you dont get food all over the carpet. Also might come in handy to use to make sure you dont get any dippin dye on your carpet. I just picked up my cougar FTD two weeks ago.. its plain awesome and I had three pumas before this boat that i liked as well. If any of you guys are in Missouri and are considering an FTD I will gladly take you out on table Rock to test ride/ fish if you are interested. Mike

Ive been through three pumas… Back the trailer in so that the front tips of the small side bunks are slightly out of the water. This will vary of course from ramp to ramp but this is a good starting place.

2 years of hard use seems about right… I am assuming you are running a 24 volt trolling motor… That being said, pull the batteries and take them to an auto parts store and have them checked to see if you have a bad cell in either. Always keep your water levels full (1/2 inch below the top caps more or less) with distilled H2O. Oftentimes guys will leave their batteries on a charger and never check the water… the life of the unit is drastically reduced that way. Check your connections and keep them clean with a wire brush. Interstate batteries are great so unless your going to throw down a couple hundred $s a piece for optima or trojan units, you should be fine. Another thing to consider is that your batteries may still have some prorated warranty left. Take them to your interstate dealer and see if you can get some money back when trading up for new batteries.

We all take a lot for granted. I am always so proud to see our soldiers out and about at airports and other public places… All public safety (police, fire and ems) have a tough job as well which oftentimes goes unappreciated. My prayers to your friend… count your blessings, pursue Gods will in your lives, take care of your families and enjoy the time with friends and loved ones whenever you get the chance. Hope you guys (and gals) are getting some time on the water… fall fishing is right around the corner.
