I took one of the old running lights as a tester and went through the five pin at the truck and it is not getting juice for the right signal. The same test on my wifes suv confirms that it is my truck and not the five pin adapter. At least I know where to concentrate my efforts now. Thanks for all the suggestions.

I talked to R&R today and they said it was just straight 30 weight motor oil. I would have thought it was something more specialized than that. For once something is easy.

I recently put 2 of them in my Cougar and they are tight but not as tight as you are describing. It takes some force to get them in but I dont have to beat them with my hand. I like the fact that they are tight because I tend to forget to buckle the straps before I make a run and not once have they come out of the holder even in very rough water. I dont have any of that stuff. Might be why it is frustrating me. By hitch pin to you mean a trailer hitch pin? Are those standard items I can pick up or do I need to order those from Pete?

I was in the same situation you are in a few months ago having the same wheels you do and decided to go with a 17×8 rim with a -6 offset. The 2005 and older Bass Cat trailers have narrower fenders than the new ones so I would not go any wider than 8 inches. I wanted 18s but couldnt find any that would fit that were less than $200 a piece. I kept the same overall diameter as the original 215/70/15s by going with 225/55/17. Make sure you check the exact tire that you want to buy because not every manufacturer has the same diameter for the same stated size. If anything go down in diameter as the factory size can occasionally rub the fenders when you hit large bumps I ended up only paying about 300 dollars more to get new rims and tires than just replacing my old tires because the 17s were alot cheaper than the white letter 15s. If you buy from discounttiredirect.com they will ship for free and give you free mounting and balancing. Good luck in finding some that you like.

It does seem to be “all the rage” at the factory down the street. I think it looks good on someone elses boat but I dont think I could live with it everyday on mine. As long as you dont introduce “Carolina Blue” gel, I will be happy.

I have seen them mounted to the seat pedestal utilizing a custom bracket. That would be a good option.

Its all about trailer depth for me. I trim up just until the single trim piston takes over and have no issues granted the trailer is far enough in the water.

My wife and I went to Bull Shoals at the end of June this year and stayed at Bull Shoals Lake Resort. It was nice and we had a good time. The fishing however was not as good because the daytime highs topped out at 108. Visiting the factory was well worth it and I would also reccomend going to the large factory in Flippin as it was very interesting and will help you appreciate how Bass Cats are made one at a time with much more attention to detail.
