I am coming from a 1995 201 fs Stratos to one of these two boats. One reason why I am going down in size is the dreaded does it fit in the garage on the trailer. 19 foot fits great, 20 with a jack plate, well maybe not.

I would fish with him. I could use some more learning about fishing. There is something to be said doing something with some one who is better than you are. No matter if it fishing, bowling, playing cards, you do get better. And yes I bought a few baits from peppers. Now I just have to unload about 200 lbs of the others that are in the bow of this boat.

As of right. now all of the “premium” that I have been putting in this boat has been 91. I have not found any 93………yet. But still, after reading all of the information that is out there about what the 10% mixture Gas is doing to 2 cycles I think I am safe for now with the 91 octane gas. I will continue to run the attitives thru it to keep the carbon down (IE OMC had carbon guard, I think this merc #2 treatment might do the trick). The article from West Marine is pretty informative about the damage that is caused by not running pure gas.

Boat has regular gauges in it. Does not have smart gauges on it. Also it does not have a radio.

Thanks for the replies. The information your giving me is greatly appreciated. If you had to do it right now, would you go into Hummingbird, or stick with the gen2 Lowrance Units. I have heard that the Hummingbird Units are easier to use than the Lowrance ones, and some people have had issues with the warranty on the Lowrance. Any thoughts?

Mark, Which Elite 7 did you wind up with? I know there are at least 3 different ones out there now? It does sound more like plug and and go with the Lowrance Units since all the wiring is already in the boat.

Vinegar also works. I had them get into my crawlspace once. Stuck a pan of that stuff under the house and they left very quickly.
