I show 44lbs more than the opti. Some will say you don’t have the tank of oil onboard, but with 44lbs more off the very back?? You can call Basscat & give your serial# & receive an updated Plate for 175 4 stroke, but the persons will be reduced to 3 & 390lbs. I would be curious as to performance #s for same HP. I plan on staying with the 2 stroke as long as possible.

07 non-FTD Sabre 175 pro/xs. Lots of good info here. I would not plug any holes or add scoops-just asking for problems. I have tried several props, tempest, fury 3 & 4 of different pitches & top speed-25″ Fury 3-running light-very light 70.96. Easiest to drive-24 Fury 4, but only 64. Best all around 24″ Fury 3-3&3/8ths below pad. I would try a 23 or 24 Fury 3-a fresh non worked prop at 3.5″ below pad.

3 3/8″ on the plate & remove as much weight in front of console as possible.

2 0r 4 stroke? RPM? current prop? current prop to pad inches? rooster tail height to engine cowling? how much gear in front of console?

Rich12  Engine height will vary depending on the prop being used all other things being equal-weight, location of the weight, wells, fuel, temps, humidity etc. Thus each one will have to be tested at various heights especially between 3 & 4 blade or Fury vs Tempest etc. Good thread for another post.

For my 07 Sabre 175pro/xs after multiple props/heights-Tempest 25 & worked Tempest (will run out of w/p as it likes height & various Fury 3 & 4 blade) heights-what worked best for me was a 25″ Fury 3, 3 3/8″ below pad, light in front of consoles, cold weather, 70.96 at 5,900 on Bull Shoals. Now I carry more tackle upfront & have switched to a 24″ Fury 3 with a 24″ Fury 4 as a back up. It runs too flat for my taste. Good Luck & Have Fun!

The 4 blade lifts the stern & doesn’t fly the bow as well as a 3 blade. I have not run light & by myself in years. Tourney load-full of fuel, full wells, full cooler, 2 guys 240 & 220 over 220 lbs of tackle, every compartment packed plus large tacklebox on the floor + rain soaked carpet, 62. Last Summer full fuel, empty wells, 1/2 the tackle, 240 person, with more weight in front of the consoles than I used to ever carry-67.

I think a 26 would be too big.

Just had same dilemma. Several have made the switch like the above & can be just fine. The problem arises when your voltage regulator goes out & you put out more than 14.8-15 volts, the lithium can’t take it. On my 08 175 proxs service tech checked & a fine 14.5volts, but can go up to 20 without the regulator & while running & not knowing it can get so hot it can melt a hole through the hull. He said he has seen it. I went with a Pro-Guide AGM 31MX1150. Hope that helps.
