I have been running a modified 25″ temptest. I had it worked to a 26″ to get my rpms down. It runs great with speeds in the 73 to 74 mph range on most days when fishing by myself with all of my gear. Once in a while under perfect conditions I have been able to run 75 to 76 with the above load. Your prop shaft height seems to be right on and your rpms are close. The only other option I have had some luck with lately is a 25″ blueprinted Trophy prop by DAH proppellors. It is very sweet and carries a load better than the Temptest. I have also experimented with some race type wheels that have put me at 77 mph but they are not suitable for a fishing prop. Trust me when I say I have spent alot of money and time on setup and Im back with the Temptest and Trophy with my propshaft 2 1/2″ below the pad. Thats about as high as you can go and carry a heavy load. Good luck and enjoy the ride!!Chris CoupelPaulina, La.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.
Big Dog, do you still have the 25 trophy? Please shoot me an e-mail with pictures if you can. My e-mail address is (coupel21@yahoo.com). Sounds like a great deal if it is brand new and I will buy it. Thanks Chris CoupelPaulina, La.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.

Yes, I have a 2007 Yukon. I had to buy a 6 inch drop to get a level towing attitude. They definately threw us a curve ball putting the reciever up there in the bumper instead of under it. I will say it does a nice job of towing though. I find it better than my extended cab GMC truck. Go with a six inch drop and you will be fine!!

Sorry about that, I went out to the Garage and measured my top of ball height. It is 19 1/2 inches to top of ball. This is probably still a little on the high side but I have had no problems at all towing with this.

That is some nice looking rods and I’m sure if BCB is putting thier name on them then they must be of high quality. I will definately look into these.

Very nice. All very well thought out changes and welcome changes in the storage dept. on the FTD. I especially like the fact that they kept the underseat storage as well as added a storage on each side to the back. Has to be one of the best packages I’ve seen, Period. Good job to the design team of BCB.

What about pricing a 175 HPDI yamaha? It should be a little stronger than the 150 optimax and cost less than the 175 pro xs. I am a mercury man myself, but, if you dont mind the hammer behind you it may be an option to consider. Good luck with your purchase and feel good about picking the right boat no matter what engine you go with. Chris CoupelPaulina, La.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.
Yes Sir, that is one sweet little setup. I havent seen one in person yet, but everything about it seems to be just right. You dont need to save your pennies, the bank has plenty and would be more than happy to share.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.
Hey Dan, Sorry to hear of your troubles. I have an excellent mechanic shop that I use in Gonzales not for from Thomas marine. Its Simons outboard repair. I am more than certain that unless your whole case is destroyed he can get you fixed up for alot less than $4000. Probably more like $1200 for a rebuild and a remanufactured case for somewhere around $2500. I agree with Phil that a new motor on your boat would not be my first option, however, if you plan on keeping your cougar for many years it may be benificial to you. Also, A new Classic would be great, you know I love the Classics. E-mail me at coupel21@yahoo.com and lets talk about these options. Chris CoupelPaulina, La.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.
