Why the wet cell for trolling motor and AGM for starting?

I have the SmartStrike Western States card and have found the features useful. It’s great to use on a lake you are unfamiliar with, but it has been really cool to use on lakes I know well. If I have a spot I know, let’s say a long tapering point with some rock that’s south facing, I can put that data into my graph and it will show me similar spots on that lake. I have found a few new honey holes I never knew existed! It’s really a great tool, but you do have to spend some time with it and learn how it works…

I’d be interested to hear what Quantum says about it, I imagine they have a new formula coming out soon? I’ve been a Quantum guy for the last 8-9 years and only use their reels now. I have one unopened bottle of Hot Sauce left along with one I’ve been using for the last year or so…hadn’t needed any so hadn’t looked for it! I’ll look at my local tackle shops and see if they have any on the shelf.

Can it be added to older models that didn’t come with it originally?

I used this setup in my last boat before upgrading to a 4 bank, and I have to say it was a great little charger! You have the option of leaving it in the bilge area or unplugging it and just leave the connector attached to the battery. It really works well and you can add a y-cable that splits into 2 plugs so you only use one extension cord to charge all your batteries!
