What do I put for gear ratio ?When I put in my currnet speed & rpms, it said 1.65 .

That all depends on what motor you have. Consult with the motor manufacturer on your gear ratio for the year and size of your engine. Most common today are 1.86 and 1.75BCB

Rare set up.Mark had the 200 on there because he had one he wanted to use. The Tempest should be about the right wheel. You could trya 24 Trophy. As you know Mark had a good load and that would influence the propeller seelction. From our recollection, the Tempest did run in the upper 60s on this rig. you wont run much over 65 to 68 with this one. BCB

OH! Try the calculator at the top, use a 1.75 gear case and probably 8% on your rig. If your speeds are close, you have a good prop combo.BCB

About 68 is what it would run. Thats based on the boat speedometer. According the the calculator thats the correct speed too. The thing I dont like the most is the hole shot, kinda slow. I pulled 2 plugs but the prop would slip way to easy, so I went to 1 plug pulled and its much better than 0 pulled. Still not great, and I seem to have lost some top end. Now the speedometer will only reach about 64 or so. It appears I need to start looking for a new prop.

base your findings on GPS and not your speedo. They are not accurate enough to determine true MPH. Earlier 200 & 225 Optis were soft on the lower end. That maded them a little flat loaded. The 200 Optis improved in 2001 and the 225 in 2002. BCB
