Mike- I just returned from fishing 2 days at Lake Monticello, and learned of the great news about you joining our family. I am excited about your desire to work with BCB to keep our industry diverse, alive and growing!!!

    Peace,

    Johnny

PS. Where can I get a knit cap like the one you wear when it is cold? The one that has a small bill. I can’t seem to find it anywhere including your website?

BCB – Are these rods similar in action and level to the silver series or Low Riders ???

Can you get 7 MH? Pretty standard size and power (not cranking rod) for worms, jigs, etc. I am ready to place an order when you get this. If not, no problem.

    Thanks BCB!

PS – Thanks Phil for the explanation.

Well, I went to Ray Roberts Lake down here in Texas hoping to beat my record of 6.7 lbs for this year (bait for them fish Angler 17 is holding). Anyway, my son (6 yrs old) caught his biggest bass this year and ever. I didnt get a weight but a good one for him. Fish jumped out of the water a couple of times so that got him going. Thanks BCB for making it possible! Last edited by blvnhim on December 11th, 2007, 4:08 am, edited 1 time in total.

Great pictures Stephen! Those will be nice when they grow up and share their kids the time you spent with them. I just wish you had set the example by wearing one of them cool life vests too! I was young enough to still get into one of them. Peace to you and your family!

Hey Steve – I didnt mean to say you didnt wear a vest. I know you do especially when it makes best sense for everyone involved.. I was just kidding about wearing one of them cool life. Just doing it to yank your chain and kid with ya! Sorry for the mislead.

I have a 2006 P4. The reason I was sold on it was because folks like Phil sold me on features such as how well it handled rough water and very near to the ride of the bigger BCBs. It does handle well. I had a 18 ft before, and that extra 1.5 ft makes a big enough difference. For a 19.5 ft boat, it has plenty of storage front and back. With fuel prices that will continue to climb over $100 dollars a barrel, I plan to stay at 19.5 with a 200 HP. Wish I had more money to spend on gas for pulling a bigger boat loaded with more stuff, but I dont see that happening in my life. Good luck with your decision.Last edited by blvnhim on March 9th, 2008, 1:22 am, edited 1 time in total.

I run with a bass angler (fishes 3 to 4 days a week) and he purchases from the show room floors ZX 225s, and now runs an i-class. Of course, I fish with him, or him in my boat when I did run a an 06 BCB PIV. He (and I) will admit that the S brands are not as smooth riding in rough water. They tend to “pound” a bit more as opposed to cut through. Their hulls are not deep. Also, the pounding seems to come just in front of your feet (as opposed to under neath you or a bit behind- I admit that I am not an expert in hull design and dont know if there is anything to this), and possibly why his boats typically have to go back for stress cracks repairs (plus, their gel coat process is not as good as BCB). The positive side is that I have found the S boats a bit heavier than a BCB and therefore, do not require as much TM control while fishing in windy conditions and or rough water. I guess that is the give and take with gas prices today. Charging TM batteries is cheap if you have to work a boat a bit more. Anyway, his i-class was sent back to the factory in TX (AGAIN – THIS IS second time in less than a year) and was just returned about 3 weeks ago…it had a long list of repair items (rod locker problems, electrical problems, gel coat problems, live well problems, trailer fenders coming off, trailer lights and harness came off, etc). Granted, this guy fishes more than most but the boats he has owned, struggles to keep up with him. This is not to bash the company, just sharing experiences. I purchased a new BCB and the only challenge I had was a rod locker that leaked and it was repaired. Other than that, I never got to take advantage of the “bumper to bumper” warrenty that came with the boat. Good luck in finding a boat that fits you.
