I may be interested in that 25P renegade if it doesnt work out for you and the prop is in good shape. I think it is going to be too much prop for your setup..Just as BCB said to improve your holeshot you should be looking at 23P-24P..anything more than that in a 4BL is going to do more harm than good to your HS especially if you plan on staying out of WOT. Let me know..mxracer_269@yahoo.com
Thanks, I knew I saw something on it somewhere. I just got the organizer today, just have to wait for warm weather to put her in…I will be fishing as a Co-angler in the BFLs this year, and a boater in Club tourneys..The organizer will make it easier switching my tackle from my boat into my tackle bag….I decided I needed one more year fishing in the back of the boat to gain some more experience before I strike out on my own.
I am interested in one of the Blue XL vests…I may take them both if the price is right…What are you asking???
Sorry about your loss…I am Fairly new to high performance bass boating,,,After reading a few threads like this lately I will make sure that Myself and my family all have their PFDs on while the big motor is running…Not just for tournaments….I read another thread where a guy had his 5 year old daughter fly out of the boat…Luckily she was wearing a PFD and was fine….I could not even imagine…
Thanks I thought they were Perkos, but I wasnt sure…My boat is stored 200 miles away right now so I couldnt easily check…
I use the Ram Mount….I am going to be fishing alot of big water and I like the security..I have a 52 inch TM so that is alot of motor bouncing up and down..Most everybody up here either uses a Ram mount or a Bungy strap…I use both the velcro strap and the Ram…
The wires should be labeled with a silver tag…one Black cable is the power wire for the head unit,,,One cable is the power wire for the GPS Puck, and the other wire is for the NMEA if I remember right….You can hook the 2 red wires for the head unit and the Puck together and same with the Black wires just make sure you Fuse them seperately…Also make sure your wiring is switched through an accessory switch or add a toggle switch…If you dont the wires can corrode and the GPS puck is hot even with the unit off and if you dont put it on a switch it could kill your battery..If you have any questions check out the Lowrance website or give Linda Colt a call..
You dont need to hook up the NMEA wire…Just the Wire for the GPS Puck and the Head wire..
I am not sure how Bass Cat configures their units from the factory and I am sure they will be on with their suggestions,,But obviously it has to be something in the cabling that both units share….It is really weird that you are having problems with the Sonar, and GPS functions in both units…
I work at Ford so Lets just say great minds think alike….We are starting to move up on the JD Powers list(tied with Toyota and Honda) so hopefully in a year or two we will be right on the top with you guys at Bass Cat…. By the way I had my Jag out on LSC today…..I like it more and more every time I take it out….
Not to break up this love fest……But…. Bass Cat if you give me a boat I will tatoo BASS CAT on my Forehead and say BASS CAT in every other sentence…….LOL… Id like to thank “BASS CAT”…My BASS CAT performed flawlessly today…..I know the routine…Last edited by brnzbaklvr on July 2nd, 2008, 4:47 am, edited 1 time in total.
I have been running a 52 inch MK TM all year with no issues…I fish LSC and Lake Erie, but I also fish smaller inland lakes…Alot of big water guys in the north are using 60 inch shafts…I thought that was too much, but I like the 52 inch..I just have to pay attention and move the motor up when I am in extremely shallow water.. I have a 97 Jag, I do not have any issues opening the Rod locker…I installed both a Ram Mount and use 2 velcro straps to hold it in place..I love the lift assist..(Maxxum Pro)..I didnt go with the US though…I wanted direct site with my TM transducer..
If you are having problems with your Lowrance Unit get ahold of Linda Colt at Lowrance..I think her email is linda.colt@navico.com If that isnt right try the service number and ask for her..She has been great at helping me out.
That is a beutiful boat…and a good price on the F150 package deal…(on the boat also) Things are tough up here in the Great Lake State..I have had about 5 of my neighbors and friends head to Texas..I feel like I am working on the edge of being out of a job everyday.. Good luck… B
I cant really compare the Cougar to the P4 because i have never been in a P4…I currently own a Jag and have ridden in a cougar a few times…I have fished the BFLs as a Co angler for the last few years and fished as a Non boater in quite a few tournaments so I have had the opportunity to see a few rigs in action on Lake St Clair..I really dont think you could go wrong with either of those rigs…My friend has a P3 and he does not hesitate to head out in rougher (reasonable) weather…I think rough water is all about the driver…I had a guy last year just about kill me in a 22 ft Ranger. He drove like an Idiot..On the othere hand I have had great rides in 18ft bass boats..Bottom line is buy what you like and work on your big water skills and you will be fine in either boat..
