Gentlemen I have also ran all these motors at one time having owned the merc myself all I can say is do your homework. That beeing siad homework would be talking to unhappy owners and finding out why! They each will have pers over the other but you have to consider longevity in purchases like these. So with that said I would go with whom ever is giving the best warranty satisfaction.I refuse to trash anyones products but if you need references in e-tec warranty issues I can supply those but not on this page.Good luck Danny

I ran one in 06 and after running the puma and ftd all I can say is it really fishes much bigger than most. For the speed you can only expect so much from todays 200″s.I put it through some pretty intense boat wakes at Lake of the Ozarks, along with fishing in some 30-45mph winds I NEVER got wet.I do alot of dock fishing, the p4 is very nimble yet extremely stable especially when you have two grown men netting fish.Whoever siad these boats dont lift might have chosen some poor words to describe this boat. You do have to truely learn how to get max performance(packing the air will do the trick which is very easy)out of the 200.My opinion was the 26 trohpy plus, but I am very aware about the proper loading for max perf.Lots of storage for all your fishing needs. If yoyr anywhere close to the MO. border I can meet you at grand or somewhere else to give a demo ride if needed.

Im sure Russ will bounce back quickly,he is one heck of an angler.Let this be a positive to some though. If you live in areas that have these idle zones you need to use your gauges to all of there capacity. You can adjust smartcraft so that it reads exactly what your gps does.I know not everyone use Mercury but Im sure that Yamaha,as well as Evinrude do this as well.Read your manuals to learn this process.

As much as i will pull for ike being the top for bcb,I will predict Davis.I beleive Byron and Aaron are gonna run out of fish and everybody knows that when Mark aint talking much you better lookout. He is very well known for being sold nomatter how many days they fish,Just my opinion.

A good friend of mine has an o6 puma with 225etec.I have been in and drove this boat several times, I have always ran mercury but i will tell you that no 225proxs can or will touch his on fuel or performance.I t is very quiet, fuel consumption is very good, and the torque at all ranges is quite impressive. It is also for sale so he can get a new one.

Each motor can also have variances that is why we see performanse difference on same hull motor combos.I am simply stating that regardles of what bwb magazine tells you,They are not always right on the money. There are way to many variable and when you take into consideration that everyony of there tests is done in a empty boat you must consider that I beleive the only true way to test is loaded. How often do you run around with no tackle? The man asked for opinion and I GAVE MINE BASED ON MY ON THE WATER KNOWLEDGE!
