Was going to ask if the dealers had samples of the actual colors. Phil, we live up in Huntsville and the nearest dealer is Bowden down in Humble? Never dealt with em, are they pretty good and reliable on service? thanks again!

I really didnt think a hole shot plate would make that much of a difference, was just curious if anyone had experience with one. Our Sabre will snap your neck on take off as it is now. Still “tweaking” for optimum all around performance with the setup. Havent been able to make a long enough run to get the feel of the rig, as we have only had it out on Conroe a couple of times and with the cross chop for all the pleasure boat wakes, that makes it really difficult to drive at top speed for very long. We love our Cat! Doug n Sherry

It is also one of the (many) reasons Cats have such an awesome hole shot and great ride………………………….

Fished a BFL on Toledo Bend yesterday. Day started with 1 – 2 ers, not rough but a bumpy ride. On the ride South, we ran with and actually passed a 20 R (not a Z series) pushed by a 255 Rude. When we reached our first fishing spot my co-angler asked, “That is a 150 Merc, right? That was a 225 we were running with!) Honestly, that R was not set-up correctly, as he would trim up, I could see his bow drop and the rooster tail shoot up over 6 above his cowling. All said though, our Sabres are hot rigs! BCB is absolutely correct in saying it is the “sports car” of their line! Drives awesome, runs and rides great for an 18 boat. But most of all, it fishes fantastic! Stable when the co-angler decides to walk from one side to the other while fishing, low profile, manuveurs easily; and, most importantly, best livewell in any 18 boat (or any length for that matter)! With temps over 95 degrees and two tournament limits in the well, our fish were as lively at weigh-in, as when we caught them! Thanks BassCat for building a great line of boats! Doug Odom

In 8th place overall in the LA/TX BFL after 4 tournaments……………….only one in the top ten without a paycheck this year, and I believe there is only 1 other in the top 20 that havent cashed a check………………………………but, at least I am in-line for the Regional.

Unbelievable boat! Looks great and the lift it has running! BassCat you have raised and set the bar for all boat designers and manufacturers. It can be honestly said that as of the launching of the new Jaguar, BassCat is by far the best in design, product quality and safety. Only BassCat could figure out a way to install mirrors on a bass boat console that are functional and with that said, increases the safety of the driver and passenger(s)! Thanks to all the BassCat family!!!!

JonB, I run an 08 Sabre, and love it! I dropped back to the 18 from a 19 boat (not a Cat); and I was a little concerned about rough water capability too. But not anymore! I fish Rayburn and Toledo Bend regularly, plus other big lakes on the BFL Circuit. The Sabre is an awesome rough water boat and has a great ride, very stable….tho I will tell you in does take some seat time to learn to drive. At 18 the Sabre planes very easily and has a flat ride (meaning even at slow planing speeds, the bow does not ride high like other boats) and the bow will drop down into the top of the biggest waves; when it does that you will take water over the bow! Not bad, but once you learn your boat and how it responds to throttle and trim, you will ride high and dry! Good luck and no matter which model you settle into, you cannt go wrong with a Cat!!!!!!! The Bowden Family and Mike Lott are truly top notch! Mike worked out a deal for us that was awesome and fit our need perfectly! Our Sabre is an awesome boat. Fishing the BFL and Weekend Series my co-anglers have never said one negative thing about fishing out of an 18 foot boat, in fact most have been truly suprised at the handling, speed and fishability. Two years now on Rayburn and Toledo and have never been one bit worried about making it out and back in any type of water conditions.BassCat, never in over 35 years of tournament bass fishing have I experienced a company that is as responsive to its customers as you are! Every email question that I have sent has been immediately answered; and truly honestly also! Never have I been steered in the wrong direction! Thanks again to the Bowdens, Mike and everyone at BassCat!Doug & Sherry Odom

The Taylors and Hilldebrandt Bayous have some pretty decent fishing. Nothing big, but plenty of numbers. Also, the Sabine River can be awesome, some of the bayous on the Louisiana side harbour some great fishing and you can see all types of wildlife. Of course, Rayburn and Toledo are just a couple of hours drive North.Good luck.Doug

I have an 08 Sabre also. Single pump for filling the livewell. I added a 750gph pump (as recommended by BCB) for a recirculation. Simple install. Mounted pump about 3″ above livewell drain and tied the discharge hose to the existing spray bar. I added a standard spray head for the fill pump. In the center of your Vision Touch Pad is a “hidden” switch that will power the new pump fine. It is not on a timer tho; which is okay and left the fill pump on the timer. Took about a day to complete; work-rest-think about the next step-work-rest-explain to wife why I was drilling a hole in our new boat-rest-rest-wait till she went back inside and finished the job…………Seriously, it isnt a difficult task, the hardest part was routing the wires up to the Vision Pad. I used an electricians fish tape for that. My hat goes off to the riggers at the factory, they must have double and triple hinged arms to get into and up under the rear deck!
