We encourage all customers to find the best rates and to shop around. Sometimes we offer better rates, sometimes we dont… We want our customers to have the best rates and terms to fit their budget. The local banks will often provide better interest rates than some of the banks we deal with day to day. The advantage to financing through a dealership when you purchase a boat is that often we can still get good rates but at longer terms – making the monthly payments lower. In other words, local banks wont finance as long as many larger banks. Again, it depends on the customers needs. If a customer can make higher monthly payments and pay the boat down quicker, that is the best scenario. If a customer needs lower payments to get a boat, we can extend the terms but strive to protect the customer from negative equity. Whites and silvers work well because they match most peoples trucks. If you get something “off the wall”, most people will shy from it. Most guys want a boat that matches their trucks. Great question! Heres a little story that may help you… My dad, Hubert Greene, had Ranger build him the first black boat that anyone knew of at the time. All of my fathers friends told him that he had made a terrible mistake because he would scare the fish. They went on to explain that when a fish looks up and sees the boat drifting over they should see a white boot so that they would simply think it was a cloud and nothing out of the ordinary. Without missing a beat my dad replied, “Well, the way I look at it is that fish bite better on rainy days,” and walked off. The guys were left scratching their heads because they had never thought of it that way. Regardless, from my experience, Ive owned boats with black and white boots and dont seem to think that it makes much difference on the number of fish I catch. Good fishing to you!
