Enjoyed the write up even if a couple years old. Sound like you were fishing some of the areas where I usually fish. LC is my home lake as I have a camp Buoy 39 Marina across the lake from Fort Ti. Great place to fish isnt it?
Frank – Thanks for helping get us together. Today I joined the BC family. As you know, Ill probably have a couple questions about running and operating this baby…… :-). Big step up from what I have now. Know anyone that wants a 92 Alumacraft Phantom 17 with a 115 Yamaha? One just became available… I will be spending a lot of time here reading on how to get the best out of my Pantera. If anyone wants to come to Lake Champlain to give some tips, I got a place on the lake where I can host. It isnt much but you cant beat the fishing and having an very quite private launch at the end of the driveway has its advantages. Thanks again.Brian
I just purchased a 2007 Pantera Classic (see previous page in Mass.) with a black console. Looking for a passenger console if the consoles are the same on the classic and IV and the one you have is black. Didnt know if you are just interested ins selling the console or not. If not, will contact BCB direct.Thanks.Brian
I read your post from last summer and Im in the same position. Just bought a 2007 Pantera with the 200 Optimax. We still have snow on the ground so it will be a bit before I can get it on my home lake (Lake Champlain south). Was wondering, if from one newbie to another, if you could share what surprises came along (good and bad if any) I should keep an eye out for as I learn to use my new toy. My previous boat was a Alumacraft bass boat semi V so I know learning to drive a glass boat with pad is going to be a new experince. I hope you had a great season last year and enjoyed your new boat. Cant wait to get mine home. Thanks.Brian
On our Fishing Lake Champlain board a couple months ago there was a lot of discussion about service at Lowrance. In particular they let one of their best people Linda go and she was the “go to” person when having problems. Sounds like Lowrance isnt big a customer service. Kind of silly in the long run. If I was buying new, Id go with HB or one of others like Garmen. Maybe BC could offer to consult to show Lowrance how customer service should be done. They need the help.
If Steve used to work at Brookcove Marine in Chatham back in the mid 80s, I think he sold me my first bass boat (one I sold to buy this BC) back in the mid 80s. Small world. Is Brookcove still a dealer? I was down there last month (they are about 20 minutes south of me) and there were lots Cats still on the grounds but no new ones. Ben is a good guy. He has worked on my old boat a few times.
Make that two of us. I measured today and found I need about 36 inches as far as length goes. BCB recommends the longer full length saver from what Ive read. Im guessing its because that will result in pipe within pipe most of the bar length for added strength but that is just a guess. Got about $50 in BPS credits so going to order a new swivel-ez saver. Then do the mod one of the posters described involving cutting about half the rollor end to prevent light damage. Then some bunker carpet to prevent sticking to the motor. Fun fun fun…. Hey, better to learn it hear then through trial and error!
Ahhhh. Guy I bought my boat from left me a nice new BCB hat in the rod locker and had the word Quest on the side. Couldnt figure out for the life of me what it meant.
Just might do that, if not will stop by some Monday. I play every Monday around the corner at Stadium in a league. Golf, fishing, shinny new boat, and two years to retirement. Life aint to damn bad!
