03/13/20 – THE 33RD BASS CAT OWNERS INVITATIONAL BEGINS ON SMITH LAKE

JASPER, Ala. (March 13th, 2020) – The 33rd Bass Cat Owners Invitational will begin Friday, March 13th. This is a unique two-day tournament held each year to bring their owners together, enjoy some camaraderie and hopefully tow one of two beautiful prize boats home on Saturday. Both takeoff and weigh in will be out of the Smith Lake Dam Boat Landing.

Bass Cat chose Smith Lake and the host city of Jasper for more than just the great fishing experience. “We couldn’t ask for a more welcoming community. The Walker County Chamber has offered first-class assistance and everyone is excited to try their hand at Lewis Smith Lake, which is home to so much bass fishing history”, said Bass Cat President, Rick Pierce.

Many of the top names in professional bass fishing cut their teeth fishing this water and everyone is excited to see what it has to offer. With the heavy influx of rain in recent weeks, fishing is expected to challenge these anglers who are hoping the weather creates flurries of activity from all corners of Smith Lake.

Weigh-in begins at 1:30 PM both days and continues in 15 minute flights. The public is invited to attend both days and concessions will be available. They are expecting the field to surpass 250 teams. The winners will earn a brand new Sabre FTD and trailer. Additionally, one lucky angler will be randomaly drawn to take home a fully-rigged Puma FTD SP powered by the new Mercury 250 ProXS outboard.
