Rick,Took my boat out again today! I changed props from a 25P Trophy to a 27P Trophy!Before with the 25P and Large PVS plugs it was 5850 RPMs, 67.5-67.9 GPS, 16-20 WPSI, with the propshaft 3.5″ below pad.Today with the 27P and Solid PVS plugs it was 5250-5310 RPMs, 68.9-69.7 GPS, 18-20 WPSI, with the propshaft 3.5″ below pad. This is with about 100 pounds of total gear, full center tank, empty rear tanks and 250# me, on 89 Fuel!Will a 26P Trophy pull the RPMs up and push it over 70 MPH?Thanks,JamesJames

Let me remind you that there is more to it than just swapping props. First choose the wheel. Then you have motor height to twiddle with. Then the PVS plugs to get the hole shot where you want it. If you change props, you need to start the entire process over. Your 27 numbers are low, and they are going to go lower with more fuel, full livewell, and bubba in the passengers seat. With that load, you want to be just below the rev limit for your motor in cool weather. As it gets warmer, RPMs will drop, and quite a few have a winter and summer prop where the summer prop is an inch or two shallower to compensate for the lower density /higher temp of the humid summer air.26 looks to be worth trying. Well I am happy with the hole shot! Rockets up in about 3.5-5 seconds. It handles the same as the 25P did as far as motor height! The only thing that changed was that the RPMs dropped and the speed increased!James

It sounds like you may want to raise your engine just a tad. Depending on whether or not your dealer has set it up. You should ask your dealer if they have adjusted the engine.If not then raise it in slight increments until you have just a tad bit of wheel torque and you may find 1 to 2 MPH.BCB

Rick, This is the same thing Gary Hollander told me! He said he had the same setup in a 2007 Puma that would turn 74 MPH with a 27″ Trophy, at 3.25″ below pad. I am a little deeper at 3.5″! I will jack her up a 1/4″ and retest. Thanks for the response! Also, you as well oldtimer57!JamesJames
