I am having a problem with electrolosis on my 96 Merc EFI 150. I have had this problem for awhile and thought I had it fixed. I was on 2 week trip leaving the boat in the water and was checking the prop regularly[thats where it shows the worst]and didnt have any]. It was about 4 days till I plugged the charger in and then it showed up. I have 24/36 M.G. trolling motor. My question is does anybody have some sort of isolater on their boat with a 24/36 system to prevent this, or any sugestion of what to look for? thanks , Neil B

The ground must be consistent on both the trolling motor and cranking battery. You can get a wiring diagram for the system on a 96 from the Service Dept.It sounds like someone has connected new batteries and did not place the wires on their proper terminals. This is not uncommon for this. And there are a number of combinations depending on how your is set up. BCB
