Feature Dealer: American Northwest Outdoors American Northwest Outdoors is owned by Jim & Stacy Wells down in the corner of Idaho. Jim is a master Mercury technician and does a great job on service. Hes not a bad angler either as he is a staunch competitor. He manages to get out to the Columbia River on occasion and catch one. They have some great fisheries up there. Jim was a wrench for a local dealer for a while and a couple years ago made a leap of faith in his ability. He rented a building and got started. Soon he was wrenching on engines and began selling boats, picking up Bass Cat and then Mercury along the way there. So they are a sole engine Mercury dealership. Jim made the trek, flying to Arkansas and went out with Rick Pierce on Bull Shoals for his boat ride and touring the facility. He has been back a few times since also. Joining Jim later are his father, Jack, as he answers the phone and acts as the Dealership Manager. After Jack came Mike White to handle the sales objectives there. Recently Jim & Stacy built a new complex and left that rental property in expanding to the new building. They are still in the organization phases, though they will get it put together for the spring season. We dont have any new outside shots yet, so we posted the one below so you can see it is in process. While your there, you may even see his brother Earl there on occasion as he does a little boat repair and tweaks on things when he not doing body work. Earl has a pretty cool late 60s style (70s) bright yellow pickup truck all painted out with a Bass Cat logo and checkered flag too! Jims ability to repair an engine has brought him many service customers and he will tweak one till he figures out the little culprits that are frustrating you. He fits right into the BCB mold of a dealer as he will do what he needs to get it done. The Northeast with primarily IDaho, Orgon and Washington are limited markets and bass boat sales are not as brisk as a Texas dynasty of fishing. Still Jim manages to wrangle a few boats out into those markets among stiff competition. There are a few other dealers in the Washington, Oregon and Idaho areas. Also out of his dealership is Terry Battisti. You may all read soem of Terrys writings in several publications on occasion. Terry is not a writer by trade, though it is a neat fill in profession for him. He does a good job for several publications in the fishing articles he writes.
