Topic: Hydraulic JP Guage

My Detweller was just rebuilt, and the guage worked in the shop. When I test drove it, the guage no longer works. It moves, but not very much at all. Can anyone help me trouble shoot this dude? BTW, my 06 Cougar ran (225 Pro XS)77.1 down wind and light today. I thought that was pretty good considering 97 degrees and high humididty.

Loose wire on back of the gauge? The sensor is located on the jack plate itself. Check the arm (positioner) to see if it is moving as the jack plate goes up and down and make sure it is turning the stem on the sensor itself. If you have no lose wires and the positioning arm is moving up and down with no slippage around the positioner switch stem, then likely the sensor is bad. If the jack plate was rebuilt, is there a chance the wire was spliced and a bad connection where the splice is located?
