Horn problem on Pantera II

When horn is depresssed I get a drop in the voltage on my fish finders and courtsey lights, while only a chirp sound is heard from the horn. Horn button has been replaced with the same results, and horn itself has been changed out. Any ideas? I thought about running a set of wires directly to the battery.

1. Horn is a current eater. Check the wires from the horn to the button, all the way back to the ground block in the rear. A bad ground back there might be good enough to supply the ground for normal stuff, but when the horn sucks several amps, the ground might not be able to keep up. This sounds like a dirty electrical connection, possibly at the battery. Since everything dims or shows low voltage when the horn button is pushed you should look a the main circuit. Also if you can have someone hold the horn button in you can feel the connections and the bad connection will feel hot to touch. Ive had to do that in the past when troubleshooting electrical problems in vehicles. Look from battery to ground bus and battery to main switch and breaker for loose or corroded connections…

They have given you some excellent advice. What year model is this, and dash assembly. It sounds as if this is a 92 or older.Check the terminal block leads on the transom, and odds are that this is a ground wire problem.BCB

This a 1990 model that I thought to be a Pantera II but I am finding out different since I am also the person with the bad gas gauge problem.
