Owner's Board

Vault Hubs

I have a 2015 BC trailer with Vault hubs.  I went to replace the bearings and races, I called BCB to get the sizes and part numbers for the components. The service I received was something I would expect from Walmart.  I was told that no one knew what parts were needed but I could order the sets from BC.  My other option was to call Dexter and ask them…a bit of a head scratcher but I didn’t want the hassle of calling around so I ordered the kits.  Turns out, they didn’t fit.  They fit the non brake wheels but not the brake wheels. I called back and got the same runaround.  It was suggested I replace the entire hub assemblies for well over 1000 dollars in parts.  I was also told that they weren’t aware of any problems with Vault hub parts but I could return the parts for a refund.  Again, nobody was able to help except telling me to call Dexter. I did call Dexter and all I’ve gotten was voicemails.  ETrailer has been extremely helpful and I think I finally have the right parts—I’ll post the part numbers once I’m sure I have it right. what I was planning on taking 1 day is now looking at 2 weeks to complete.  In hindsight I would have not bothered with BCBs and measured the components myself… I understand that this Vault thing has caused a lot of headaches…and maybe it’s more complicated than it seems to me—but I did not appreciate the deceptive customer service I received…the number 1 reason this is my 3rd BCB is how the company treated it’s owners. Maybe this is an anomaly, but maybe the company’s changed.
