TRIM Buttons Modified

In the before and after pictures you can see the little modification I made to the bow trim switches.

I worn out the Trim UP switch boot and yes they are switched around so I can get my foot to the Up button easier.

At first I tried to get a replacement for the rubber boot but the only ones I found were ridiculously priced.

These anodized aluminum buttons are just a perfect upgrade.

I am getting letters cut out to put a D on the trim down button and a letter D to put on the trim down button.

Not sure what color will look better, white or black?

My trim button boots are in the same condition, where did you find your new buttons?  Can you send me a link?  I like the look of those and being bigger, would make them a lot easier to tap with the toe.  Very nice work my man.

Thanks. And yes they work great.

They come in red green or blue .

My daughter used her Cricket machine to cut out the letters so co-anglers can easily see which one is the up button.

I found several options for momentary switch buttons on amazon.  I just have to pull mine apart and see what will fit on my P2 without major modification.

What am I missing…..I dont see where the parts needed to make this fantastic conversion….including the round button……will someone help an old man figure this out.

Puma11 – depending on which boat you are running, various sizes of mushroom head aluminum momentary switches will work.  Below is a link to one variety on amazon that is IP65 rated, requires a 5/8″ hole.  If you have the metal plate like shown in the photos above, you could easily modify that plate to accept the bigger switches.  For the P2 I have, the switches are molded into small recesses and the aft end of the trolling motor bracket, so I have to pull mine apart to see what size holes I have and if I can easily drill them out to accept the larger switches or if I need to look for smaller ones.  Definitely do some checking on your boat before ordering so you know what you are getting yourself into and how much work it will be.
