2019 Model Production Info

So after Rick’s post the other day where he talked about the smaller models of boats and where they have been a smaller percent of sales, curiosity got the best of me to see where the production numbers are on the small boats since I fall into that size category ownership wise. I don’t guarantee the accuracy of this info but it’s the best I came up with. This is for 2019 model year boats with data I pulled from Facebook and is sorted from smallest to largest boat length. The numbers on the small boats surprised me.

Nice graph and they may be a little short on the overall boat count. Still it is representative of the realistic percentages.

Together we built an average of between 550 and 600 units each of the last two years, and not very many were Yar-Craft.

I didn’t realize the Classic was that popular.  On the Lynx production I wonder how many of those are new to BCB customers that came out of competitor’s beam forward boats.

BCB thanks for the better total number built. I wasn’t sure how close it would come out. I’m glad it was close on the percents.

dcmclassic I thought same thing on the Classic. I wonder on it and the Lynx how much has to do with being the newer models? I’m not sure how new models translate to increased sales for how long for that particular model. The second thing I wonder on those is the trend towards people wanting wide decks on boats.

Swimrunbike Thank you for the props on that. But I have to be honest the effort behind it was not what you might think. I think it was about 15 minutes to get to the chart from getting the data. I highlighted all the data for 19 year serial numbers on the Facebook site, sorted out any 18’s or 20’s. Then pasted the remaining into Excel, filtered it down, and had Excel build a chart.

Great job on the research.

My guess was correct on the market moving to wide body boats in the 19 foot category, by a much larger percentage than I thought. Very interesting. I have been in a Classic, and Caracal. Neither would drive me out my PII.  If I fished a lot of big water, I could see moving to the Caracal. Classic? No.

Seems the 20 foot market is still maintaining a market outside the wide body. The Lynx is selling well, but the Eyra, Cougar, and Puma together are out selling it.

Its exciting to see BCB step outside the box with the Caracal, Classic and Lynx and all be successful models!! Keep up the incredible work!
