Ran a 26 Fury on my 07 PII/200 Merc Optimax today w/ air temps in low 50s, water temps 44, full fuel, empty livewells, all my gear, by myself sitting right on rev limiter and held 74.9 for over 1/2 mile on 3 different passes. Bumped 75 several times and had more trim, but I would have hit the rev limiter if I trimmed anymore. Very quick holeshot and super midrange acceleration. Love the prop and results of it. It was all that it was built up to be and I think I will leave my setup alone…..for now.
TnSabre,That is very impressive. What were your RPMs? Even more impressed that you are spinning a 26p Fury to boot on a 200HP motor. Way to go. Id say you got i dialed in. Congrats! Flyswatter
Rpms were showing right at 5800….rev limiter is suppose to be 5750, but it seems let me turn a little more then that. I normally turn a 27 pitch on this boat, but the 26 seemed to be a good pitch on the fury. I would like to run a 27 fury to see what kind of numbers it will put up, but I would expect the 26 to be the best prop this summer, with a tourny load, so I am going to stick with it.
Glad to here those numbers! My 2010 PII will be here next week and ordered it with a 26 Fury.
TnSabre, That is some very impressive results. I really would love to run a 27 Fury on my Classic. Im happy with my Trophy, but I still want to get my hands on a Fury to try. 75 mph with a 200 on a fully loaded 19 ft. boat is getting it done for sure. StrayBullet, Dont forget to post some pictures when it comes in. Im sure we will run into each other while fishing down here. Im in the Black, Red, Silver Pantera Classic. Congratulations on your purchase, you will be very happy with the overall performance of this rig.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.Last edited by Shap from La on January 29th, 2010, 3:12 pm, edited 1 time in total.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.
Hey Coup, I have a 27″ Fury you can try. Stray Bullett and I will be @ Bayou Black for Media next week, so if your fishing Ill give it to you or CastonDid you win last week?
That sounds good happyhour! I am working next weekend but I would love to get together to run that thing one day soon. Maybe we could hook up at the Hilltop or Canal bank one of these days when the weather is nice and check it out. Im not fishing media and I dont think Caston is either. I gave it alot of thought but decided to focus my attention on my Club this year. Ive been kinda out of the loop the last couple of years and really want to get back in it. I did win last week. I endend up with 12 3/4 pounds. I thought those fish were going to go crazy with the weather but it was still very slow. Managed a limit and I was happy with it but I expected more from the day. Next up for us is Des Allemands on the 20th. Good luck with media, bayou black should bust open soon. The only thing that might hurt it this coming week is a big rise in the river is coming. I could put alot of boats in the same areas. Chris CoupelPaulina, La.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.
