Looking for suggestions on the best, quick reel lube. For years I used quantum Hot sauce but can’t find it any more. I tried reel butter but it’s too thick and in the cool weather impedes casting quite a bit. I am not in to tearing my reels apart as I usually screw something up along the way. I normally just pop the side plate off, pull the spool back and dab a drop of oil into the working portion of the reel. I was wondering about using some 0 weight synthetic engine oil but don’t know if that would do any damage to any parts.
What say you?

Chris a lot of guys that do tear down and service reels are using this on the bearings both steel and ceramic. You can also mix it with isopropyl alcohol and it will flow and wick but the alcohol will evaporate leaving the 321. It’s very thin anyway so I don’t thin it.

I appreciate the info. I am in hot pursuit. We all have too much money invested in these things to let them go. I have heard some good things about the Lucas reel lube. I didn’t even know they made that. I do think Lucas makes good products.

I use TS321 on Bearings, line guide pawl and shaft, spoil shaft- brake shoes- use a quip and put a film of oil on metal surface on side plate that brake shoes would rub on. Very light coat of grease on entire surface of the body area inside of reel with the gears. – and the components inside- make sure main gear and pinion have a nice even coat on teeth. The drag disk get shimano drag grease or Cals. Even the carbon disk get the drag grease( they work way better). The knobs get a drag grease/and oil film on shaft- oil on the bearings or bushings
Dang Scubaman, sounds like I just need to send mine to you for a little P.M. job. I think I would screw something up if I took mine down and got that technical with them.

I have used the Ardent reel butter oil and grease for quite a few years with great success. I have never found it to hinder operation of the reels in any weather, and I do fish a lot in the winter months in Arkansas and Missouri along with my normal marsh fishing down here around Houma, La.
I have been using the Lucas lube. I did the same as you, used reel butter for a while and didn’t really care for it. So far the Lucas reel lube has performed.
Box em up and send them to Scubaman. He does a great job

I use Cal’s Grease: https://www.ebay.com/p/1445741882
and ZP1 oil for bearings. Very low viscosity and helps casting distance.

I’ve been practicing my baitcasting a lot. I’m using Liberty Oil on my Shimano SLX DC. I’d say its definitely the best oil for the best baitcasting reel. I’d suggest comparing some reels first by reviewing articles like these

Ardent reel supreme has worked well for me and easy to get
A year or so ago I went on a google search for Hot Sauce oil and found some in a retail fishing warehouse in the Florida keys. I can’t think of the name right now but they had it in stock so I bought 3-4 bottles some of which I gave to friends. I think I have enough to last me through my fishing days. A little bit goes a long ways. The place only charged $9.99 per bottle but the shipping was brutal. Like $22. Recently I got something from BPS advertising the Hot Sauce grease but I didn’t check to see if they actually had it. Be surprised if they did.
BPS is showing they have it again. In a different dispenser then before but they appear to have oil and grease.
