Boat Lift

Have finally decided to dock my P3 on a lift at Lake Ozark. No more trailering!The question now is what capacity lift should I get? I am seeing 4,000 and 4,500 lb lifts. Is 4,000 enough? And is there anything else I should know about lift options?Thanks in advance.

Hey bassaholic, your boat looked even better in person, not trying to change the post, just wondering how you did at kerr. Us not so good great fishery though i look fowar to coming back next year.

You can just move the bunk brackets close and be fine. There is little pressure or concern. The bunks on a lift are usually full 2 x 6 bunks and your width between chines is less. In the older days people worried about hooking a bottom, though in more recent years it is not a major concern.

lasabre, We placed 17th and got 100 bucks with 13.10 lbs. Lost a 4lb or so at the boat with one minute to go- shook off a fat free shad. All in all we felt pretty good- the guy that won the BFL on Kerr that same weekend had 15lbs. Lot of pressure on those fish that weekend. BCB- could you give me a good distance between the bunks? Tight lines to all- C

4,000 is close and the lift company would be best to answer their capacities. They are probably in tune with your needs.

1 vote for BoatFloater…have had one myself for 11 yrs, my family has had 4 total since 1978. Great product for sureAdvantages are taken, not handed out…

And is there anything else I should know about lift options?Thanks in advance.I got mine fron Econolift on Hwy 5 North of Camdenton. 4500lbs – originally had a Cougar FTD/250 Pro XS Merc. Now have Classic/200hp Merc. They are a long-time local company and stand behind their stuff. They will also install “rough water” stops at no extra (at least when I got mine). I didnt get the remote, but that is a nice feature as well… Gary HollanderLinn Creek Cove

I have kept my Classic on both a Boater Floater and an Econolift rated at 4000#. This has been on an unprotected main channel location at Lake of the Ozarks. Both have served well without significant problems.
