I would like to thank Bass Cat for having the Boat test ride at Lake Hartwell during the classic. It confirmed to me that I will love my new Caracal when I get into it next week. Hitting boats wakes at speed were not even felt. Thanks to Trey Nichols the owner driver for bringing his rig to the Classic. Also for you folks who could not attend the Expo, It was Great and Bass Cat did a great job of showing why they are the best built, best riding and best looking bass boat on the market today. I spent some time talking to Rick, Dallas, Jason and Bret and learned more about the boats. Thanks Again BASS CAT.
Glad you enjoyed it, that was a great Classic and we are already making plans to improve for 2019. If it goes as we think we are going to have a lot of fun in 2019!BCB
I took a ride in the Caracal/Optimax combo. Wow, what a boat.

Was curious a bit so at the Classic I did take a ride in the Lynx/300 vRod combo. Really like the layout of that boat with the huge rod locker.
Any chance you remember the prop it was running?
I just got done doing a write up on my test rides on a local small blog my friends are on for Lake Champlain. I rode in the Caracal with not yet broke in 225 Pro XS. Even the brief speed run you could tell the thing will move. I was surprised by how nimble it was! Its a big boat (you feel it with the deep seat positions) yet the driver could throw it around like a small speed boat. As mentioned, it took cross waves etc. extremely well. It was everything I expected from a premium boat and a little more. The boat that rocked the socks was the new Classic. What a blast that thing is! It flies and by that I mean it gets way out of the water. Dead stop to 70 between bridges with room to spare. Great hole shot, turned on a dime. The 200 Pro XS really pushed the rig. I think it had a 23 or 24P Tempest but he wasnt sure. Was turning a lot of RPMs and could spin a bigger prop if you wanted to. The big deck and fun ride make this a fishing machine and not just an entry level one. I got inside the center rod locker again (also went to show in Suffern NY few weeks ago) and my concerns with rod storage, particularly concerning rod tips, are mostly gone now. There are 11 tubes for rods plus room for more underneath so I think there is plenty of room now. But big surprise was the responsiveness. I have old version of Classic with 200 Opti and I thought no way the larger heavier new Classic was going to be as fast and responsive. It think it is and still will be after you load in the normal gear and fill the live wells. Great job BCB! The Lynx of course was just a monster. I was tempted to go for a ride but others were waiting that were seriously considering buying the Lynx and I wasnt so I didnt want to take up a ride that someone else could take. Everyone on the dock and driving the boats were great. Thank you BCB! It was great to get on the water again after a long cold winter. First time in boat since early November, it was so nice to get out if only for an hour or so.
^^^^^^ AWESOME news , Im really leaning on this new classic. I hope that plastic tank is ready soon .
I noticed the aluminum one in the classic at the expo said 27 gallons. Are the aluminum actually 27 and the planned plastic will be 30 when available?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That tank is a full at just almost 28 gallons including opacity, while the plastic tanks don’t have the new fuel valve (FLVV) opacity calculated in capacity.
