[Bass Cat Boats]

Just got this in to put up on the pages. This is the Bobcat in Production. It is not completed yet, or are you able to see much. Though here is a start. It is on the Phelix hull, and will not carry much capacity as the beam is narrow. Though it is a pretty slick little boat. This one we will put a 40 hp rating on. Though you should be able to pull it behind a Mini Cooper if you wanted to. That is definately a cool little boat. I think that will be a very good seller. Especially in todays economy. Will there be a color choice on the lightning bolt, or seats. This is a great concept. Very neat design. I like it ! But why only a 40 hp rating. I think a 75hp rating would assure some decent performance when its loaded to the max. JMHO

I would not want to stick a first time boater in that rig with a 75. I took a guy boat shopping yesterday, first time boat buyer. Due to cost he “settled for” (I hate to see people do that) a 186XT Stratos with a 115 Opti. YES I priced a 115 Sabre for him!!! He asked me on the way home if he got a good “first boat”, I had to bust out laughing as I told him that was equal to my 4th boat or so. I reminded him MANY people incuding me started with a 14 tin rig, 25 HP tiller steer. He is happy with his choice after looking at several and thats all that matters, it fit his budget and what he wanted. IMHO the Bobcat will fill a nitch for the young first time buyer or someone who just wants a small boat for backwaters or river fishing. When my son graduates college next year this will be the boat Ill suggest he starts out with. Ive taken way to many first time boaters out for a “demo ride” in a boat capable of 70+ MPH, most of them want to “see what it will do” as soon as they sit in the seat. I always hold the kill switch laynard LOL. I would think that boat should be priced right and run about 35 MPH with a load rigged with a 40HP 2 stroke. I assume its not going to be carpeted to save cost and weight?

I think this is going to be a GREAT selling boat for BCB. Not only for the first time buyer, but also for the guy who is looking to fish smaller waters, the guy who is on limited spend, and the guy who is just simply looking to downsize and insulate himself from the rising costs of bassboats and the uncertainty of the economy. A great addition and a rig that will likely catch on very quickly in the marketplace.

I know several young men who already want one !!! Bobcat should be a big hit, and will attract another segment to the BCB branding. Looks like the prefect Millwood, Conway, Ar. river backwaters rig ! D.

Yes, definitely a cool little boat and I too think it will do well for BCB. It has some “Rickisms” that are pretty cool too. She is coming along quite well…yall have been working hard lately. Judd Lasiter
