We usually have a strong showing of BassCats at this annual tournament, but we can always use more. If you are active or retired military, hook up the Cat and come fish with us. It is a great time.

SUBJ: 2024 ANNUAL COAST GUARD MILITARY TEAM BASS TOURNAMENT
A. Military Assignments and Authorized Absences, COMDTINST M1000.8A Articles 1.G.2.D and 2.A.10.B
1. All personnel are invited to attend the annual Coast Guard Military Team Bass Tournament sponsored by the Vice City Branch of the USCG Chief Petty Officers Association. This interservice competition will be held on the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes out of Camp Mack’s River Resort 11-15 March 2024. Official practice days are 11 and 12 March with the tournament held on 13, 14, and 15 March. Camp Mack’s River Resort is located at 14900 Camp Mack Road, Lake Wales FL 33898.
2. Format: This is a two-person team sport open to all active duty, reserve, or retired military and Coast Guard civilian personnel and their guest.
Registration: Registration will occur on Tuesday, 12 March from 1500-1600 hours at Camp Mack’s River Resort. All competitors must be registered prior to the pre- tournament Safety and Rules Meeting. The Safety and Rules Meeting will begin at 1600 hours immediately following registration. Cost is $230 per team.
3. Interested teams should contact the tournament director, Richard Bates, Captain, USCG, Retired, at (757) 509-9989, email USCGTeamBassTournament@gmail.com for copies of the official rules.
4. Lodging: Anglers are responsible for the cost of their lodging. Rooms at Camp Mack’s Liar’s Lodge are blocked off for USCG tournament anglers. To reserve a room, you must call 800-243-8013 and tell them you are fishing the USCG Military Team Bass Tournament. The online reservations will not work for it will show no vacancy. You must call to make a reservation if you want to stay at Camp Mack’s.
5. Administrative absence for this inter-service sporting event may be authorized for military members in accordance with Ref (A), subject to Commanding Officer approval and current travel directives.
6. The annual Coast Guard Military Team Bass Tournament is not affiliated with the Coast Guard MWR program or any other military service’s MWR program. This announcement is for the general awareness of all hands. This announcement is not meant as a command or Coast Guard endorsement of any non-federal entity or activity. This event is not a fundraising event, and the title of the event does not imply endorsement of any Department of Homeland Security or the Coast Guard. It is sent for the general awareness of Coast Guard members who may be interested in participating in this CPOA sponsored event with in an authorized off-duty, leave or liberty status.

8. Internet release authorized.
For anyone wanting to fish a fun tournament as well as the camaraderie of old and young active and retired vets this is it. I think this is my 5th or 6th year and always enjoy it. Met a lot of nice folks from all the services.
