Control panel issues still

I have been having issues with these touch pads. My last one quit working so I replaced it, still didn’t work. Called basscat and they recommended I replace the black control box. I did, still nothing. The strange thing, when I test them, they work, but the second I stick them to the bezel, they don’t work at all. Any suggestions?

Judging from the bezels and gauges, your boat has some age on it. Did both pumps quit at one time or did one quit working then later the other quit?
also, how did you test it? And in a different post you said something worked on it, IIRC. Do the lights and horn work?

Testing it by plugging in the ribbon cable without sticking it to the bezel yet. However as soon as I stick it on, it quits working. Everything works before I peel and stick. Been through 2 control boards now. Boat is a 2013

That’s weird. I know in the past they’ve said to make sure to chamfer the hole where it doesn’t kink or bend the ribbon. Not sure if this would apply here. If the bezel is a real tight fit where it compresses the case maybe that’s causing the issue.

You must chamfer the slot for the ribbon tape. It was supposed to be done at the factory, though many were not fully chamfered and others not at all. Some were right and those generally have no touch pad issues.
