Fishing Lake Conroe help and tips

Howdy!Im taking my dad, myself, and my cat to Conroe this Saturday to go bass wompushawg huntin (fihsin). Ive only tooled around the south end of the lake doing some suicide wave boat break-in trials, which I will never do again. I would like to kow some good spots to go hit for some fun bass and is any specific color other than watermelon red or black with chartreuse tail is working good for worm fishing. I have some new Rat-L-Traps to try out on the humps (if I can find some), and have plenty of spinnerbaits with big blades and some good pitchin jigs (might be a little early to pitch jigs, but you never know). If the weather forecast holds as is right now, itll be a little cool running on the lake early in the morning, but looks to warm up kind of quick and eventually hit the low to mid-60s with partly cloudy skies and a storm system supposed to come in after sunset. Weather-wise, sounds like perfect conditions for a big-bass January fishing day. My dad hasnt been fishing in the new cat just yet or has he taken a ride to see how it handles and how uch power that 250 Merc has, so Im real excited to take him fishing. There looks to be a spot on the South side of the bridge up on the north end of the lake, there just south of the western end of the bridge, with some small islands and what looks like a bunch of shallow small humps with deeper channels all around them. Theres a big (relatively speaking) island just to the side of this area, too, on the satellite picture. It almost looks like theres some vegetation there, but I cant be sure from the fuzzy satellite shot. It looks awful bassy, though.I figure to look for humps and ridges at first then move a little shallower once the day warms up and the sun wars some of the shallower flats a little. Im stocking food in the cat for lunch and snacks ad will bring some Dr. Peppers too. my dad is bringing some water.Thank you Bowden Marine for taking care of my dead motor cranking battery the week before last. That seemed to solve the problem of no power. Yalls service is superb! So glad I bought my FTD from yall! Gee wiz, I havent even caught a bass in it yet, last few times out I was enjoying joy-riding around at 60 mph and learning how the boat handled to catch a fish. Not saying I didnt try, just didnt luck into any before I felt the need, the need for speed! Then it was time back then to go put it on shore and eat supper. Fished after supper, but nothing was biting the baits I was throwing, although got some good solid taps, just no takers or keepers.Your Signature ...
